Matt with his Son Charlie |
Matt was just 19 when he was
diagnosed with acute leukaemia. He was one of the first patients to be
treated in the new unit. After several months of intensive chemo we were
delighted to tell Matt he was cured. Since then Matt has gone from
strength to strength and lived his life to the full. The story gets
better as Matt proved the odds wrong and became a dad in 2006. Here at
LINC we love hearing success stories like this one and take pride in the
part we played in Matt’s recovery. It’s also a real tribute to
increasing technology and treatment.

Simon
was aged just 39 when he discovered that he had non Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
At the time he had a young family and was under going intensive
chemotherapy, and also had periods when he needed to stay in hospital.
Simon has now been in
remission for a few years and regularly takes part in LINC events,
supporting other patients that are also going through intensive
chemotherapy and are being treated for cancer. What better tribute to
the staff who have cared for him, than to return to a happy, healthy
life with his family and friends, taking part and raising funds for LINC.
