CHELTENHAM CIRCULAR CHALLENGE

On a very wet Sunday morning in June,
LINC had a team of walkers that took on
The Cheltenham Circular Challenge.
Team LINC, was encouraged on by LINC
staff, Sue and myself.
We started off from the racecourse,
after meeting briefly with some other members of the
team who had decided to start the challenge from Brizen
Farm in Hatherley.
So off we started on a wet adventure,
out from the racecourse towards Prestbury across our
first very wet field.

It
was at this stage that Sue realized that
trainers were probably not the best attire for
the day. |

On the
other hand Indiana Organ, may have looked
dressed for the occasion, but it really wasn’t
the most glamorous of outfits to wear! |

We weren’t
really sure where we were, but once we were on
the hills by Prestbury, the conditions soon
started to change and we encountered mud pools
that hippo’s would have been thrilled to have
bathed in, Sue and I however, were not!
It soon became apparent that
this was going to be a very mucky walk, trying
to negotiate stiles, climb over gates and slip
down hills without failing was just too much to
ask.
Yes, we did slip, yes, we did fall and yes,
we certainly got totally covered in mud, but
yes, we enjoyed it and we will be back next
year with an even bigger team.

We soon
discovered that, most people were overtaking us
at regular intervals, once the scouts had walked
on; Sue and I had to keep a look out for the
Cheltenham Challenge signposts, which was quite
hard to do when we were chatting along the way.
Thank you to the
Rotary for
organising the event and also a special thank you to the W.I. who provided the best tea we have drunk in ages and
great cakes!!
A BIG THANK YOU
TO ALL OF OUR SUPPORTERS WHO TOOK
PART IN THE CHALLENGE
SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR!!!
