AIMS OF THE CHARITY  

  •         To improve the care of patient receiving intensive chemotherapy by making their in patients stay as welcoming and relaxed as possible through:-

  •        Funding the purchase of equipment in side rooms creating a comfortable environment

  •        Helping with the redecoration of wards so that the surroundings remain friendly and welcoming

  •         To provide and maintain high quality out patient facilities so that patients continue to experience a friendly, relaxed atmosphere

  •         To help fund nursing and medical staff to go on courses which mean they are aware of the newest ideas in both treatment and nursing care

  •         To attract high quality staff in the areas of research and clinical trials

  •         Raise funds to purchase state of the art equipment improving diagnosis and treatment

  •         Promoting interaction between laboratory and clinical staff

  •         Maintain and support the Robert Dalton Post to ensure that progressive research facilities are available for years to come

  •         Recognise patients and families individual circumstances during treatments and provide aid and support through their treatment. Examples include:-

  •        Financial assistance 

  •        Helping to maintain a quality of life during treatment by helping with childcare issues, travel arrangements or unusual circumstance such as repatriating young patients who may have been travelling as students and can no longer afford to return home

  •         To provide the aid and support of a clinical psychologist for patients and their families during illness

  •         Increase public awareness of cancer and in particular blood cancers

Originally every penny given to LINC went to the charity, but as we grew so did our administration and secretarial needs. Although only a small proportion of our charitable income goes towards staffing costs, we, like many other charities now have a small team of staff who work tirelessly for the charity and all have a passion for achieving our goals.
